What a great quiz night we had on Friday! Great atmosphere, challenging questions, great food - and a bar to boot! What more could one ask for?

YOU raised an amazing £818 for the church bell-tower project.  YOU also raised money for the village hall via the bar, run by Giles – so well done him for all his hard work.

We have also to thank Trudy for her amazing support for the evening. She sorted the tickets and table-reservations, prepared the questions, organised the raffle, did all the shopping for food and prizes (and did a lot of cooking), and also organised people to help in the kitchen. Trudy covered all the costs of the evening; in fact, the event was sponsored by her company, Portlantis.

Thank you also to the volunteers who helped in the kitchen, carrying plates to and from the tables, and who helped to clear up afterwards. Many hands do really make light work – and we are very grateful to people who come forward to help.
