Macmillan coffee morning 14th October
A quick reminder that our coffee morning on Monday 14th October is in aid of the Macmillan cancer-support charity that helps so many people in this country who have to deal with cancer. We probably all know someone who has had cancer, or perhaps you have had cancer yourself - it seems that it is an ever present part of modern life.
Macmillans is now rated as the most highly regarded charitable organisation in the UK, with very positive reviews of the work they do. For example, their nurses not only help cancer-patients, but provide valuable respite for their carers who are often family members, and who in many cases struggle to cope with the need to be there 24 hours a day for their loved-one.
Please come to the Village Hall on Monday and let's do our bit to help this great charity do even more wonderful work in our community! There will be delicious cakes and a raffle too - with some great prizes. It starts at 10am and goes on till 12 - so there is plenty of time for a cup of coffee (or tea) and a slice (or two) of cake, as well as a chat.
We look forward to seeing you there - and helping to make a difference!
